A drowned mouse and answered prayer
by You Have My Word
At cell tonight, a lady shared this story:
She had recently moved into an apartment with a room mate. The other day they heard, and then saw, a mouse in their apartment and totally freaked out (as woman do, naturally). They didn’t get to catching it, and kind of wished it away.
A few nights later, they were asleep in bed when there was a little scratching noise in the room. It was the mouse, no doubt. She got her flashlight so if she heard it, she’d be able to spot it. As she lay back down she prayed, saying “God, I really don’t want to deal with this mouse, so please can you just do something about it.” It seems nonchalant, but a while later she stood up to go to the bathroom. Upon entering, she looking into the toilet bowl, and there was the mouse. It had drowned.
As she was sharing this story she posed this thought: If God can sort out a mouse, then what else can He sort out that we haven’t yet spoken out?
In James we read that “You do not have, because you do not ask God.” What have you not asked God for? What are you not presenting to God? I guarantee you, there is nothing He can’t handle. If God can deal with mice, he can surely deal with anything. Nothing is too complex or too simple.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Phil 4:6)
